And it's time for another officially requested review! Matt, the brain and brawn behind the imagination, execution, and production of all music Solus tossed me a promotional copy of his album and I must say I am blown away. In a world where equipment and influences are as readily available as wind in Chicago it is not often that someone produces a fresh sound that steps on very few toes. The closest tie I can make is with Lotus; where Lotus is organic ambient trance funk I call Solus organic ambient atmospheric funk. They're both outta Philly so who knows maybe there was some rubbage happenin but from the bass-heavy Now You're Here to the vocally euphoric Missing You, it's a journey with 11 stops that you don't want to miss. Thanks to Matt you get a chance at track 02 on the house. You don't have to take my word for it - check out some myspace and then get this album which pound for pound is worth every penny.
