Properly belonging on the same playlists you'll find Longwave on, Starflyer 59 is an equally deserving band of your attention with beats and vocals that I mesh with a little bit more affectionately. Oldest album I have of theirs is Everybody Makes Mistakes from 1999 and there are several albums between that one and this one. These CA indie rockers keep a nice acoustic feel underlying all the layers and methinks that might be why I love them so.
