Can't say I've ever heard of emotronic but it tips off the tongue just like it sounds. Biggity bumped drums overtop some ambient synth and lazy drawlish language. Beat-angry Cake? I like. Check out track 01 also.

We takin' off to New Zealand right now yall. This one goes out to all my dub-lovin' raggamuffin boi's (+ girls) out there. You know who you are. Doesn't take too much to introduce these beat-pumpin foot-struttin tunez to yaz. Ears up. Beats down. Given that it's an imported CD on most sites like amazon and can run ya almost 30 bucks sans shippin, I recommend you look for some online downloads for purchissiz.

Emiliana's last album certainly kept me entertained for a while amidst favorites and not-so-favorites. This time around it is no different. Certain tracks lean towards the indie, some towards the bareboned acoustic, others to folk. There's a little electronic, a little bump, a lil sum'in for all appetites that blend any of the above genres. The title track is crisp, clean, and dark. Track 04 (both of these you'll ear) is tastes strangely of Amy Winehouse... call it a crime to compare these two artists but I just call it like I ear it. Ear it yourself.

Twin Cats - Up North

Genre: Experimental Folk
Release Date: 2008-07-01
Label: Orchid Collective

And we're back on track. Sorta. Twin Cats are a sort of experimental indie folk band based out of Chicago. I'm heading there in 10 or so days and I imagine I'll be finding all sorts of bands in the area there so I'm guessing there will (hopefully) be an influx of American bands making a comeback to counter the ginormous number of international represenation here at earitnow. I really like The River (Track 02) and can get along pretty well with the rest of the album, but as you listen to the rest of their songs you'll probably see why I like track 02 so much in comparison. I'm more for the folk and less for the experiment even if I can appreciate the experimentalist in all of us.
