Coltrane Motion - The Year Without A Summer EP

Tracklist:
01. The Year Without A Summer
02. Maya Blue
Genre: Electronic/Indie/Dance
Website: Myspace |
Release Date: 2009-Spring
Label: Datawaslost (Vinyl) and 75orLess (CD with Remixes)
Last time I talked about Coltrane Motion was a little after I saw them at Halfway to Forecastle Festival in Louisville at Headliners. They were great when I saw them and now I'm happy to report that Michael Bond (the mastermind behind it all) has finally seen fit to release a couple more tracks for us fans of his. He's kicking off a spring tour this thursday with a show at The Whistler here in Chicago. It's free, so go if you're in the area. Also - the vinyl will be colored (cool!) and the 75orLess release will be limited edition screen print with remixes so that'll be a snag too. In an interview with Mr. Bond he said the following... you might find it as amusing as I did:
"Given that our particular brand of electro-dance-noise often attracts an audience that's not only lonely, attractive, but also far too drunk, we're hoping to inspire as many regrettable hook-ups among our fans as possible. We supply the kick, snare, and bass, you supply the bodies. We hope to leave a trail of awkward restroom makeout sessions across the country this summer, igniting the sexual tension that no doubt consumes the population of say, Wichita, Kansas. Other bands want to sell records? We've got a higher goal: propagation of the species."
