"
Spanish four-piece Delorean has been kicking around the dance-pop scene for awhile now, remixing the Teenagers and Mystery Jets in 2008, then releasing the hype-building Ayrton Senna EP in 2009. Now after playing nearly every conceivable showcase at the 2009 CMJ, the band releases Subiza, its first full-length album. Mixed by Chris Coady, who's worked with !!! & Telepathe, and recorded by Hans Kruger, who sounds like a bad guy from Die Hard, Subiza promises to be yet another set of danceable, summery pop tracks."

"
With their second album Ghostkeeper delivers an extraordinary marriage of noisy blues and pop in a complex and textured sounding recording. Revealing his Northern Alberta origins, the distinctive voice of Shane Ghostkeeper cuts through the serpentine knots of intricate guitar and thumping cave rhythms that punctuate the songs. The result is a mysterious, unusual and nuanced voice, infused with Mississippi roots and traditional folk idioms, invigorated with an ever-shifting collage of characteristically inventive and deliciously off-kilter experimental blues and psychedelia."

The fabulous debut album dropped in spring of 09, so not that recent, but all the same you've got to check out the sick Inca Cola mix and then head over to their myspace.

"
Drink Up Buttercup may hail from Philadelphia but the geography of their debut album 'Born And Thrown On A Hook' is less easily located on a physical map. It's an occasionally surreal mythology filled with tales of hopelessly flawed characters, star-crossed lovers, drunks, fairy tales & bad trips. It exists in a world touched upon previously by Tom Waits, Hans Christian Anderson and Lloyd Kaufman while musically it follows the direct lineage of classic songwriting: Bowie, The Beatles & The Beach Boys' late 60s lysergia, early Roxy Music, Sabbath's bass heavy pulse & the crescendos of Arcade Fire.

Recorded meticulously throughout 2009 by Bill Moriarty (Dr Dog / Man Man) and mixed by Rusty Santos (Animal Collective / Final Fantasy) it perfectly balances consistently catchy melodies with the raw energy of their trashcan pounding live show."

EDIT - Anticon Records

Deep in private music communities there was a rumble and stir amongst those who were keen enough to pick this one out of the static. From the looks of it (myspace counts, tracker counts, etc) Baths is a complete unknown but once listeners jump over to his myspace and eventually get ahold of this LP he will certainly be on the up & up. So what do I hear? Some Cornelius, in places a much more mellow Pretty Lights, a bit of Passion Pit-ed vocals, sometimes all at once and at others in complete isolation. Might wanna keep quiet on this one for a while, shhh! Keep a lookout at the label site for the forthcoming release.

Per Anticon's request I've changed the track to Maximalist... which is equally awesome.

Neon Indian - Sleep-Paralysist

 http://earitnow.com/uploads/mp3s/2010/NeonIndian/NeonIndianGLS5SM.jpg

Green Label Sound today releases its first single of 2010 - "Sleep Paralysist" by Austin indie synth-pop outfit, Neon Indian.  "Sleep Paralysist" is a collage of catchy melodies, playful beats, and lo-fi haze, all signature sounds of Neon Indian and available for free download exclusively at http://www.greenlabelsound.com
"Sleep Paralysist" was written by Neon Indian lead-man Alan Palomo; the track was recorded and produced in collaboration with Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear in Brooklyn at Taylor's elusive musical dungeon, Terrible Studios.  This is Neon Indian's first new offering since the release of his critically acclaimed début album Psychic Chasms last October.  Already SPIN, Rolling Stone, Wall Street Journal and Pitchfork among others have featured Neon Indian, calling him an artist to watch in 2010. Most recently, he made his late night TV debut with a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Neon Indian - Sleep Paralysist

Neon Indian is Alan Palomo, the 21-year-old synth-wizard who first created waves as VEGA. After writing a batch of off-the-cuff recordings that weren’t quite right as VEGA songs, Palomo released them as Neon Indian and what started as a careless outlet for ideas too offbeat to fit the VEGA mold has since gone on to define a genre. His critically acclaimed début album Psychic Chasms, which was released in October 2009, has been featured in SPIN, Rolling Stone, Wall Street Journal and FADER among others. In February 2010 he made his late night TV debut with a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
